Walter Laux, MS, LPC, CSAC is a dually-licensed therapist specializing in individual and group therapy for both mental health and/or substance use disorders, and maintains a private practice in Milwaukee. Walter is a highly-skilled independent clinician who has been in the behavioral health field for over 20 years. He has presented at both state and national conferences on effective strategies to assist individuals on their path to recovery and is a member of the Association for Contextual Behavioral Science. Walter has helped numerous individuals utilizing a mindfulness-based approach known as Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) to let go of what is holding them back so that they can show up in the present moment to take action on what is truly important to them. Within ACT, he uses an integrative approach to therapy, which draws upon evidence-based research and practice, to create more flexibility to respond to life’s stressors and transitions. Progress is monitored using periodic outcome measures to ensure you are moving forward, and getting the most out of therapy.
